Periodical Review: Fatwas – September – October 2011
The following report sets out the main fatwas published between September and October of 2011 on the “Minbar Al-Tawhid wal-Jihad” website, belonging to the Salafi ideologist, Abu Muhammad Al-Maqdisi. The surfers’ questions are answered by the “Website’s Sharia Committee”, which includes a number of prominent Salafi sheikhs.
The fatwas published over these months, dealt mostly with the situation in Libya following the fall of Gaddafi’s regime. Other fatwas of interest discussed the upcoming elections for the Egyptian Parliament, the elections in Bosnia, the religious permit given to women to go to the Jihad theaters, the permit to abduct foreigners in the Gaza Strip and more.
