In a timely blog published in the Times of Israel by Mr. Brian Michael Jenkins, Advisory Board Member at the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT), the veteran offers heartfelt advice to Israel’s soldiers returning from the country’s longest and most difficult war.

Drawing on his own experience as a U.S. Special Forces officer in Vietnam, Mr. Jenkins reflects on the psychological and societal challenges that accompany coming home from war. He warns of the “light gray curse” that can follow veterans (alienation, frustration, and misunderstanding) while urging Israel’s returning soldiers to “stand tall, stay strong, and stay together.”

Mr. Jenkins calls on Israel’s veterans to use their moral authority and strength not only to protect the nation, but to heal it – transforming military sacrifice into political resilience and national unity.
