Dr. Shimon Yechiel Oz
Research Fellow, International Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT), Reichman University; Former Senior Official, Israeli GSA; Expert on Arab-Israeli Relations and Political Resistance in the Negev
Dr. Shimon Oz is a Research Fellow at the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT), Lauder School of Government, Diplomacy & Strategy at Reichman University, Herzliya, Israel. He has been a research associate at the Lauder School of Government since the summer of 2021.
Dr. Oz researches both Islam and the relations between the State of Israel and the Arabs of the Negev, with an emphasis on political resistance and social change organizations. His doctoral dissertation is titled “Israelization: Dialectics of Political Resistance and Social Change among the Bedouin of the Negev, 1961–1981.” Dr. Oz also lectures on these topics.
Prior to his academic roles, Dr. Oz worked as a senior advisor to the CEO of the Authority for Development and Settlement of the Bedouin in the Negev.
