Dr. Lt. Col. (Ret.) David Doukhan
Research Fellow, International Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT), Reichman University; Former Lieutenant Colonel (IDF, ret.) and Expert on Urban Warfare, Radical Islam, and African Security Affairs
Dr. Doukhan served a long and distinguished career in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Prime Minister’s Office, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel (Ltc. ret.). He specializes in issues of urban warfare theories, radical Islam, terrorism, and African security affairs, with a particular focus on Boko Haram’s operations in Nigeria and the Sahel region.
His areas of expertise include postmodern and classical military thought in the context of urban warfare, the evolution of radical Islamic movements, and the dynamics of terrorism in Africa.
Dr. Doukhan holds a B.A. from the University of Haifa, an M.A. from Tel Aviv University, and a Ph.D. from Bar-Ilan University. His dissertation, titled Postmodern and Classical Military Thought in Urban Warfare: Tension and Effects, explores the theoretical and practical intersections of modern conflict in urban settings.
Born in Paris, France, and married with three children, Dr. Doukhan continues to conduct research, lecture, and contribute to the understanding of contemporary security challenges.
