Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Arik Yakuel

Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Arik Yakuel is currently the Owner and CEO of Tvunot 5766 and serves as President of H.Y. Long Range Vision, specializing in international trade and marketing. He also holds roles in the private sector as a consultant to various companies and government agencies in the fields of technology and security. In addition, he is a Director at Tracense Systems Ltd., an explosives detection technology startup, and the Co-founder and Owner of Glat Lift, a developer of enhanced Sabbath-compliant elevators. From 2006 to 2007, he served as Chairman of the Board at Sapir Tech, a software startup that was later acquired by Malam Team.

Maj. Gen. Yakuel served in the Israel Police Force from 1979 to 2006, concluding his service at the rank of Major General (Nitzav). His distinguished police career included serving as Head of the Bomb Disposal Division during the First Intifada and subsequent terror attacks, as well as participating in peace negotiation teams with Jordan and the Palestinian Authority following the Oslo Accords. He established and headed the Technology Administration, was appointed Head of the Logistics Support Division in 2000, and later served as Head of the Planning and Organization Division, where he was responsible for establishing the Strategy and Resources Departments. He lectured internationally on counter-terrorism and is recognized as the first Orthodox Jewish officer to attain the rank of Major General in the Israel Police.

His areas of specialization include counter-terrorism, logistics and planning, technology management, and international marketing and trade. He holds two technology patents—one granted and one pending as of 2022.

Maj. Gen. Yakuel was appointed Head of the Advisory Team to the Minister of Public Security regarding the Orthodox Jewish community in July 2020.

He holds bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Business Administration from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.Prior to joining the police force, he served as a Lieutenant in the IDF’s Combat Engineering Corps until 1979.
