Lt. Col. (Res.) Doron Hadar

Fellow, International Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT), Reichman University; Former Commander, IDF Crisis Management & Negotiation Units; Expert in Psychological Warfare and Strategic Influence

Lt. Col. (Res.) Doron Hadar is a Fellow at the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT) at Reichman University. He recently concluded a distinguished military career, serving in several leadership roles in the Israel Defense Forces, where he specialized in crisis management, negotiation, and psychological warfare.

Since 2015, Lt. Col. (Res.) Hadar has served as the Commander of the General Staff Crisis Management Unit. In this role, he has been responsible for consulting, guidance, assessment, and the development of strategic recommendations during security crises. His work included training and operational experience in foreign countries on behalf of the State of Israel. In 2014, he served as Acting Commander of the General Staff Assembly, and in 2008, he was appointed Commander of the General Staff Negotiating Team. Across these roles, he led the formulation of influence strategies and psychological operations targeting rival decision-makers, along with the analysis of psychological impacts on key audiences.

Throughout his service, he managed and led a large, multidisciplinary operational team comprised of experts and senior executives from various fields. He developed, tested, and implemented methodologies in crisis negotiation, cyber-related challenges, and psychological warfare, while expanding the unit’s operational scope and client base. He also focused on organizational growth and mentoring professional personnel.

Lt. Col. (Res.) Hadar brings deep skills in strategic thinking, innovation, team motivation, and translating abstract ideas into practical outcomes. His professional strengths include an in-depth understanding of social dynamics, influence mechanisms, and effective leadership.

He holds an M.A. in Conflict Management, Resolution and Negotiation and a B.A. in Political Science with a focus on military strategy and national security, both from Bar-Ilan University.

His additional training includes professional and academic programs such as the Directors Certification (2017, College for Achievements), Negotiation (2014, Shakla and Tariya School and Hebrew University), Foreign Relations and Decision-Making (2011, University of Haifa), Crisis Negotiation Management (2009, Israel Police), Mastering Negotiation (2008, Columbia University), Mediation (2002, Bar-Ilan University), and the National Negotiators Course (2001, Metropolitan Police Service, UK).

Lt. Col. (Res.) Hadar is 46 years old, married to Iris, and father to Shahaf and Lavie. He is an avid antiques collector and devoted soccer fan.
