Mr. Shalom Ben Hanan

Mr. Shalom Ben Hanan is a Fellow at the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT) at Reichman University.
Prior to joining the ICT, Mr. Shalom Ben Hanan served in various operational and leadership positions at the Israeli Security Agency (ISA / Shabak), where he served for 27 years and retired as a position of head of division (equivalent to Major General).
In the ISA, he served as Head of the Sub-Division of Jerusalem and Judea as well as the Head of the Counter-Intelligence Division. Shalom is an expert on counterterrorism, intelligence, and counter-intelligence, as well as Palestinian and international terrorism.
Shalom has a BA in Middle East Studies from Tel-Aviv University and a MA in Government with Specialization in Counter-Terrorism and Homeland Security from the Lauder School of Government, Diplomacy and Strategy at Reichman University.
In 2021-2022, Shalom Ben Hanan served as a Distinguished Visiting Fellow on behalf of the ISA at the ICT.
