Mr. Omri Sharon

Mr. Omri Sharon, served as a Member of Knesset (MK) in Israel’s Parliament representing the Likud Party from 2003-2006. Mr. Sharon championed environmental causes and chaired the Environmental Lobby. Mr. Sharon led the legislation contest for the Seashore Act (2004) to protect the Israel’s seashore surroundings and initiated the Clean Air Act (2008) to regulate all issues pertaining to the air quality in Israel. Additionally, Mr. Sharon successfully protected Mount Hiriya and the surrounding agricultural lands from development. In addition, Mr. Sharon served as a member of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee and the chairman of its Subcommittee for the State of Alert and Field Security.

Prior to serving as an MK, Mr. Sharon was a key figure in Former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s personal team from his appointment as temporary head of the Likud Party (1999), along his election as the leader of the Likud Party (September 2, 1999), through his election to the Prime Minister of Israel (2001).

Mr. Sharon was the driving force behind the establishment of the political party Kadima. He generated unprecedented international support for the Disengagement Plan from the Gaza Strip (2005).

Mr. Sharon served in an elite Air Force commando unit of Israel Defense Forces (IDF) from 1982 – 1990 and from 1993 -1995, reaching the rank: Lieutenant Colonel. Following his political career, Mr. Sharon joined Aeronautics Defense Systems as a VP of strategy.

Today, Mr. Sharon is a co-manager of the Sycamore Farm in the Negev (Southern Israel), growing citrus fruits and vegetables and raising livestock
