Mr. Ram Walzer Avidar served for two decades in the Prime Minister of Israel’s office. Throughout his distinguished career Ram served in a number of senior command positions in the field of security and intelligence, ultimately responsible for strategic planning and served as a member of the Executive Board.
In 2017, Ram was appointed by the Prime Minister as the Biometric Applications Commissioner. In this role, Ram established the unit, and led its extensive work in the fields of biometric identification (including issues related to passports and biometric identification certificates) and the National Policy for Biometric Applications and Digital Identification.
Ram is an expert on formulating organizational and national policies in the fields of biometrics and digital identification.
Ram is a graduate of School of Law at Tel Aviv University (LLB) and holds a master’s degree in law (LLM) from Bar Ilan University.
