Mr. Kevin Vorndran
Mr. Kevin Vorndran was named Deputy Assistant Director (DAD) of the FBI’s Counterterrorism Division’s (CTD) Support Branch in May 2021. In this position, he is responsible for ensuring that CTD coordinates and provides operational and/or material assistance to aid on-scene commanders through crisis management events. In June 2022, DAD Vorndran assumed the responsibilities of Acting Assistant Director of CTD where he currently oversees all FBI counterterrorism matters throughout the nation. Mr. Vorndran entered on duty as a Special Agent (SA) of the FBI in April 2004. From 2004 to 2009, SA Vorndran was assigned to the Baltimore and Philadelphia Field Offices, where he worked violent crime, white collar crime, and public corruption investigations. In Baltimore, SA Vorndran was a member of the Field Office’s SWAT team. In late 2009, SA Vorndran was assigned to Legat Baghdad as an Assistant Legal Attaché where he led the International Contract Corruption Task Force until late 2010. Upon completion of his ALAT assignment, SA Vorndran returned to the Philadelphia Field Office to continue his work on public corruption investigations. In late 2012, SA Vorndran transferred to CTD as a Supervisory Special Agent (SSA) working on terrorism matters related to Africa. Upon the conclusion of his CTD assignment, SSA Vorndran became a field SSA in the Baltimore Field Office, where he worked counterintelligence matters. In October 2016, SSA Vorndran reported to Ottawa, Canada, where he served as the Legal Attaché for three years. From late 2019 until May 2020, Mr. Vorndran served as an Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Washington Field Office. In June 2020 Mr. Vorndran was promoted to Section Chief of CTD’s Counterterrorism HUMINT Section, where he served until he promoted to his current position.
Mr. Kevin Vorndran was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Lafayette College in 1998 and his Master’s in Business Administration from Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan in 2013. Prior to working for the FBI, Mr. Vorndran was an engineer for Procter and Gamble. His wife is also a FBI Agent. They have three children.
