Mr. Denis J. Monette is the former Assistant Commissioner of Police in Nassau County. Mr. Monette’s education includes an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Nassau Community College, a Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science from the NY Institute of Technology, and a Master’s Degree from Long Island University/C.W. Post College. He also holds a United States Coast Guard licensed Master and Captains License, further enriching his expertise.
Mr. Monette served over three decades in law enforcement, with roles ranging from Police Officer to Detective Sergeant, primarily in the Narcotics Bureau and Detective Squad. His career includes undercover work and he has received numerous national and international awards for his service. Mr. Monette is considered an expert in Aviation and Maritime Security and has been a featured speaker at the World Summit on Counter-Terrorism for eight years.
He is currently the Undersheriff for Counter Terrorism and Homeland Security at Nassau County in New York and Professor in the Criminal Justice Department at Long Island University.
