Mr. David Tessler joined Meta in 2019 and is now the Director of the Dangerous Organizations and Individuals Policy team. Mr. Tessler’s team, along with hundreds of other experts at the company, work to stop terrorist, hate, and criminal groups that try to use our platforms. Before joining Meta, Mr. Tessler served in the US Foreign Service and at the US Treasury Department for almost 20 years of public service. Among his assignments, David was stationed in Bucharest, Baghdad, and at the US Mission to the United Nations, where he focused on countering terrorist financing and sanctions. Mr. Tessler grew up outside of New York City. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis and with a master’s of public policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School. Mr. Tessler is married and has a son.
