Dr. Sivan Hirsch-Hoefler

Assistant Professor at the Lauder School of Government, Diplomacy and Strategy, at Reichman University, and a Senior Researcher and the Head of the Right-Wing Extremism and Hate Crime Desk at the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT), Israel

She is also a Senior Fellow and the Scientific Director of the Extremism and Political Violence Project at the National Security Studies Center, University of Haifa.

After completing her doctorate degree in political science at the University of Antwerp (Belgium), she was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Government Department, Cornell University.

The bulk of her research has been within the field of right-wing extremism and political violence, with a particular emphasis on Israel, and has appeared or is forthcoming in, British Journal of Political ScienceComparative Politics, Political Psychology, Electoral Studies, International Journal of Intercultural Relations, Studies in Conflict and Terrorism, Terrorism and Political Violence, and other outlets. She is currently working on a book project tentatively titled: “The Israeli Settler Movement: Assessing and Explaining Social Movement Success”, co-authored with Professor Cas Mudde
