Shimon Oz has been a research associate at the Lauder School of Government since summer 2021. He researches the relations between the state of Israel and the Arabs of the Negev, with an emphasis on political resistance and social change organizations. His doctoral dissertation is titled “Israelization: Dialectics of Political Resistance and Social Change among the Bedouin of the Negev, 1961 –1981.” Dr. Oz also lectures on these topics. Prior to that Dr. Oz worked as a senior advisor to the CEO of the Authority for Development and Settlement of the Bedouin in the Negev. Dr. Oz is a retiree of the Israeli General Security Agency.
