Brig. Gen(Res) Oren Avman is an Associate, International Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT), Reichman University, Herzliya. Oren Avman served in the IDF as a senior combat commander and staff officer for three decades and retired with the rank of Brigadier General.
Throughout the duration of his service, Avman acquired an extraordinary amount of combat experience from his various postings in Lebanon and the West Bank, and served as a highly influential and respected voice in the Israeli Defense establishment, regarding a broad range of issues spanning tactical, systemic, and strategic concepts; during his time in combat in Southern Lebanon, to the subsequent IDF withdrawal from Lebanon, continuing on to combating Palestinian suicide terror, and shaping the West Bank “seam area”, all while drawing conclusions and implementing the necessary solutions for change as a result of wars and combat operations
As a senior staff officer, Avman has many years of experience in formulating concepts and methodologies, developing and implementing work plans, and leadership of resource intensive projects.
Mr. Avman holds a BA in Political Science from the Hebrew University, and an MA in Social Sciences from the University of Haifa, and is a graduate of the Israel National Defense College. Oren Avman also founded and managed ATMS strategic advisory firm.
Today Avman is an entrepreneur, Co- Founder of Double Shoot Ltd.
