In the days leading up to the election, the ICT Jihadi Websites Monitoring group has conducted a survey of some of the most prominent correspondence addressing the matter.

On September 27, 2008, the Al-Hesbah forum hosted a debate addressing mechanisms to cope with the blocking of jihadi sites and forums. Forum member Abu Tah initiated the discussion, calling for forum members to consider different means of coping with this challenge.

2/10/2008 Fatwa in an Al-Qaeda magazine calling for Jihad Against the Algerian Rulers

The on-line magazine “Sada Al-Jihad”, published by the Global Islamic Media Front, published in its September 2008 issue a Fatwa (ruling) by Abu Musab Al-Magharibi, calling for Jihad against the rulers in Algeria. It states that Jihad is a mandatory commandment, and that it must be executed against the leaders of the country, since they represent Socialism and heresy. He provides reference to this statement from the Koran and the Hadith, and presents argumentation for his claims.

On September 14th 2008, a blogger calling himself Caucasus emirate published an announcement, according to which the leader of the Dagestan Front of the armed forces of the Caucasus emirate , Amir Abd Al-Majid , was killed during the Ramadan on the first days of September 2008.

7/9/2008 Jihad Organization’s Methods of Operation on the Internet Exposed on Saudi Television

The show "Our Worries", broadcast on the Saudi establishment television, exposes what is already known – that global Jihad organizations are using the Internet for seduction, recruitment and indoctrination, in order to integrate young people into the global Jihad front. The mere production of the show proves that Muslim countries recognize this activity as a threat and are trying to cope with it. Furthermore, even a country like Saudi Arabia which knows the cultural base of radical Islam, is having trouble dealing with it.
